I am happy to announce that our agency has formed a partnership with the Animikii Ozoson Child & Family Services to provide the Learning is Essential for All People (LEAP) Program (16 sessions) for Animikii and Island Lake Children in care.
The purpose of the program is to provide children with a safe place to receive academic assistance, while also building positive relationships in a safe and supportive environment.
This is a two-hour after-school program. The agency provides educational materials to all mentors and mentees, so they can study together during the program (6:00 - 7:00 pm).
After the study session, they will have opportunities to socialize through fun activities and team-building activities (7:00 pm - 8:00 pm).
This is an early prevention program that focuses on our children's connection with their school system, improving their social skills, and educational achievement.
We want to show them that homework can be fun! Children and mentors work together to make progress on schoolwork and increase academic performance.
At the end of the sessions, each child will receive a certificate and gift from the agency.
Please provide the form as soon as possible because the facilitator will visit their home and interview with child and caregivers in order to accept them or not.
When: Oct 8 - Nov 26, 2025 & Jan21 - Mar 11, 2026 (every Wednesday)
Time: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Where: 313 Pacific Ave (4th floor Animikii Training Room)
